A short while ago, I was flying with a corporation called The Fifth Freedom. They are the null sec/PVP wing of a much larger group that goes by the name JUNTA and I had spent almost a year and a half with both the empties and null sec operations.

With the 5th, I was able to participate in the creation of an outpost in Y8R-XZ, the creation of something entirely new in the universe. We flew in the Wildly Inappropriate alliance, but left them to pursue our own fortunes after the fall of Geminate. Unfortunately, due to problems of ship retro fitting, I was stuck in station in K25-XD and was unable to join the mass exodus. This meant I was stuck with the new, very hostile, owners of Geminate and 20 odd jumps to safety. A friend, Louis, was also stuck behind enemy lines with me.

On a quiet day, we decided to make our move and escape from Geminate, me in my trusty Hound, Frumentarii, and Louis packed to capacity in his Orca, Demeter. The intent was for me to scout Louis out of Geminate, since I could easily slip through unnoticed.

The two of us were flying fine, system after system, with no opposition, until we arrived in system 6RQ9-A. Louis had been spotted in K42-IE by members of SOLAR fleet.

Initially, an Ishtar and a Falcon began attacking Louis, but Demeter was a damn tough ship, and the Ishtar never got her below shields. The Falcon had her locked up and and she couldn’t warp off to my location, so she was stuck while they wasted their ammo.

In an attempt to scare the SOLAR pilots off, I warped back to the gate and lobbed a bomb at them. Unfortunately, it didn’t scare them off. I warped in again, with the hopes of firing a few torpedoes at the Falcon, but was targeted and fired upon. They ripped through my thin shields in a matter of seconds. Powerless, I sat in horror as SOLAR brought in a Nidhoggur and Thanatos to pummel Demeter into atoms.

Louis managed to escape in his pod, but was shortly blown back to the vats when he unwittingly jumped into a warp disruption bubble.

I managed to sneak my way out in Frumentarii, avoiding the gate camps, and made my way to Stacmon, where the 5th decided to set up temporary offices.

Unfortunately, because of the SNAFU caused with Louis and the destruction of his Orca, we were both asked to leave the corporation. I will still say that the members of JUNTA are some of the best pilots I have ever had the honor to fly with.

Since that date, I have decided it is time to start my own corporation, to try and make our own way in New Eden. We are starting out, fresh, in this new beginning, and the future is wide open to us.
